The Loft is run by volunteers who'd rather talk with you than collect data about you. We keep the minimum we need to run the centre well, and nothing is ever sold or used for advertising.

If you just visit

You can come to classes and dinner without giving us any details. We may keep a simple note of visits to help us run the evening — nothing is required of you at the door.

If you become a member

When you sign up we ask for your name and email, and optionally your birthday and any dietary needs (so the kitchen can look after you). We also keep your visits and your class-pass balance. Signing in works by email link or Google — we never store a password.

Online purchases happen on our website's shop, which keeps its own order records; this app keeps a copy of your pass so reception can mark off your visits.

Your rights

Under the NZ Privacy Act you can see what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to remove it entirely. Members can do all three from their own account page; anyone can simply ask a person at the centre. If you ask to be removed, a real person will have a word with you first — then it's permanent.

Questions

Talk to anyone at the centre — they'll find the right person. Nothing about privacy here needs a form.
